KVAL's
Architect-di Deep Mortise Hinge & Lock
Machine automatically positions, routes
and bores architectural doors for hinges
and locks in about 60 seconds,
door-to-door. Mortise locks in hard core
material may take a few seconds longer.
The 60-second cycle time also includes
drilling hinge screw holes for 4-1/2"
pockets.
Since this model has no face boring
capability, a KVAL Face Door Face
Routing and Drilling Machine is used in
line to create a complete machining
center. Dividing the machining between
two work stations improves productivity
and minimizes complexity. The Face
independently accomplishes all the face
boring and detailing functions required
for cylindrical and mortise lock
function holes, along with exit devices,
card locks, and viewers. Auto-feed and
auto-positioning are both available
options.
The "di" in the Architect's name stands
for digital integration. A Windows-based
computer system and 12 servo drives are
integrated into the Architect-di to
vastly reduce set-up times and eliminate
errors. All the adjustments listed below
are fully-automatic and all of them are
accomplished simultaneously in under 10
seconds.
